Radiance Is a Homecoming
This is beauty as embodiment, the kind that rises from a body that feels safe, nourished, and fully alive. Here, the face you were born to wear and the woman you are returning to meet again.
Radiance • Embodiment • Essence • Beauty Beyond Standards
Rooted in the Past · Embodied in the Present · Blossoming Toward the Future

Why I Offer This Work
I have been avoiding advertising for facial acupuncture or aesthetic acupuncture because I wanted to offer more. After having an honest conversation with our office manager as to why I do not enjoy doing just regular facial acupuncture, I described to her my take on beauty and how I would approach it. Then I thought, why not? This is what makes me unique. Let me put it out there and call in my tribe.
I believe that healing is a moving forward, not a going backward.
Part of what I have not enjoyed when I have worked with patients in the past who came in for facial acupuncture was the movement of the treatment. It was often, “I want to look 20 again. I want to look young again.”
I remember when I first started acupuncture and was seeing some of my first patients. I was 25 years old, and I had a 73-year-old patient who came in and said, “I want to look like you again.”
That is not realistic.
That experience left an imprint on me. Even though I am trained and have treated many patients since then, it left me with the feeling that I do not really enjoy this work when it is approached from that place.
For me, healing is about moving forward. It is not about being 16 again or 25 again. It is about becoming the healthiest, best version of yourself.
So beauty at every age.
How can we help you have healthy skin? How can we decrease fine lines and wrinkles? How can we support the body, use really good products, drink water, stay hydrated, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and get the nutrients you need? How can we get you excited again about that level of self-care? And how can we help you embody your soul’s true light, your essence?
Because when you embody your true radiance, your true light, that beauty shines even when you are not trying.
There are days when I do not feel beautiful, or I am not thinking about beauty at all, because in many ways I have decentered this constant quest for beauty in my life. Yet I receive many compliments from people who tell me how beautiful I am.
Part of that came from the trauma healing work I did. I completed a two-year trauma healing program with Thomas Hübl, and one of the processes I worked through was the pain of having been disconnected from my beauty. I realized that I get to embody my beauty.
I get to fully embody my beauty.
Collectively, we are also healing many wounds connected to colonization, slavery, and the question of who gets to be beautiful and what the standard of beauty is. For me, this is beauty beyond a European standard of beauty.
This is beauty for every woman.
Every woman is welcome, including women of European descent. How can we all be beautiful? How can we show up knowing that, when we come together as women, we are like a bouquet of many flowers, and that we all get to shine?
Another woman’s beauty or radiance does not have to be a trigger for me. It can be something I celebrate, knowing that I too am beautiful. I can be beautiful in the presence of another woman.
This is the type of work I want to do.
This is the level at which I want to do it.
And this is why I am offering it.
This is why I have this page here.
Only you can embody your unique beauty in this world.
Part of the reason I hesitated to offer aesthetic acupuncture is that I did not want to participate in a one-size-fits-all model of beauty, one that is often driven by fear, insecurity, and the message that there is something wrong with you that must be fixed. That is not the conversation I want to have. The conversation I want to have is about celebrating every woman’s beauty and wellness.
The world does not need another version of someone else.
The world needs your original beauty.
Many Indigenous traditions speak of original beauty, the understanding that beauty is not something we earn, chase, or manufacture. It is something we arrive with. It is something that has always been present. Much of our healing is the process of remembering that.
Perhaps one of the deepest wounds we carry is the disconnection from our own beauty, our own essence, our own belonging.
When you embody your beauty, your unique beauty, the beauty of your ancestors, the beauty of your lineage, the beauty of humanity, the beauty of the Earth, and the beauty of the cosmos, you remind others to do the same.
You give others permission to shine.
You become a living invitation for someone else to remember who they are.
That is the kind of beauty that interests me.
Beauty that empowers.
Beauty that nourishes.
Beauty that heals.
Beauty that reconnects us to ourselves.
Beauty that allows us to stand fully in our own light.
Because only you can embody your unique beauty in this world.
The Return Behind the Glow
There is a quiet movement happening online. Women are placing two photographs side by side. One was taken inside a relationship that asked them to shrink, to doubt, to disappear. The other was taken after they left, after they remembered who they were. The difference shows in the eyes, in the skin, and in the way the whole face softens back into itself. People call it a glow up. I call it a return.
I work with women who are emerging from relationships and seasons that dimmed them. The exhaustion of being unseen lives in the body. It settles into the jaw, the brow, the breath, and the skin. When a woman finally turns back toward herself, her face longs to follow. Aesthetic acupuncture is one of the ways I help her get there.

Your radiance was never lost. It was only waiting for you to come home.
What Aesthetic Acupuncture Offers
Aesthetic acupuncture, also known as facial acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, or facial rejuvenation, uses very fine needles to invite circulation, collagen, and lymphatic flow back to the surface of the skin. The work is gentle, and the results build over a series of treatments as the tissue remembers how to nourish itself.

Softness
Fine lines ease as the tension held in the face begins to let go.
Brightness
Color and light return to a complexion that stress has quietly drained.
Lift
Circulation and collagen are awakened, firming and toning from within.
Calm
The jaw, the brow, and the breath release, and the whole face settles.
The Science Beneath the Glow
Facial acupuncture works in partnership with the body. The very fine needles create tiny, controlled points of stimulation in the skin, and the body responds the way it is designed to. It sends fresh blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the area, and it gently prompts the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and supple. Circulation rises, the muscles of the face find a more balanced tone, and the lymphatic system clears what leaves skin puffy and dull.
Because I am an Acupuncture Physician, I am never only treating the surface. I read the face as a map of the whole body, and I place points on the body as well, so that we are supporting your digestion, your sleep, your hormones, and your nervous system at the same time. We work from the inside out and the outside in at once.
Facial acupuncture is also cumulative. A single treatment feels lovely and leaves you glowing, and the deeper changes in tone and firmness build over a series, as the tissue is reminded again and again how to nourish and renew itself. This is slow medicine, and it rewards consistency.
Biopuncture, a Natural Layer of Collagen Support
Alongside facial acupuncture, I am also trained in biopuncture, also called acupoint injection, a gentle method that uses natural, homeopathic preparations to encourage your skin to build its own collagen. Because the collagen is your own, your beauty stays unmistakably yours. We can use biopuncture on its own or weave it into your facial acupuncture series, depending on what your skin is asking for.
Deeper Than Skin Deep
This is full body acupuncture as much as it is facial acupuncture. I needle the face, and I needle the body, and where it serves you I add herbs and gentle cleansing, because the skin is the surface of everything happening underneath it.
In Chinese medicine, the Lung governs the skin. When the Lung is nourished and the breath moves freely, the skin is fed, protected, and able to glow. The Lung is paired with the Large Intestine, the body’s channel of release, and when elimination is clear and the body is cleansed, the skin no longer has to carry what the body could not let go of.
And when the Liver is functioning well, moving blood and qi the way it is meant to, that ease shows in the complexion. A calm, well-fed Liver gives the face its color and its light.

This is deeper than skin deep.
Beauty Is a Whole Body Event
The face is the last place beauty arrives and the first place depletion shows. This is why I never treat the face alone. Radiance depends on every cell being hydrated and fed, on the gut absorbing nutrients, on the liver moving what it needs to move, on sleep that truly restores, and on a nervous system that has finally come down from years of bracing.
When the whole system is cared for, the skin glows because the body beneath it is well. We work with nourishment, with hydration, with rest, with movement, with breath, and with the slow regulation of a nervous system that has carried too much for too long. The needles support the surface, and the way you live supports everything underneath.
What the Body Remembers
The body keeps a record of what we have lived through. Chronic stress and old grief tighten the fascia, clench the jaw, shallow the breath, and pull the light out of the skin. You can feel it as much as you can see it. When we begin to release what the body has been holding, through Chinese medicine, through somatic care, and through the steady work of feeling safe again, the face changes. The tension that aged it begins to soften.
This is the deeper work, and it reaches far past the surface. Beauty returns on its own once the body remembers it is allowed to rest, once a woman feels at home in herself again. The skin simply tells the truth of a life that has grown gentler.
The Grief of the Maiden
There is something we do not say out loud often enough. As women move toward our elder years, there is grief. There is a real and tender grief in watching the maiden begin to recede, in the first gray hairs that arrive, in the fine lines that settle around eyes that have seen so much. We are taught to fight all of it, and the fighting itself becomes its own kind of suffering.
I want to name that grief, because it deserves to be honored rather than hidden. The maiden was beautiful. The girl you were was beautiful. You are allowed to mourn her even as you welcome the woman you are becoming.
The work I care about is the work of embodying all of it at once. Wisdom and vitality and beauty live well together. A woman can be radiant and gray. A woman can be luminous with fine lines that map a life fully lived. The body is allowed to age, and beauty is allowed to remain.
It is easier to transform what we have accepted than to resist the natural cycles of life.
When we stop bracing against the seasons of the body, something softens, and in that softening there is room for the grief to move through and for beauty to return on new terms. Acceptance becomes its own quiet power, and it opens the door to transformation.
What if you could integrate the inner child and the maiden as you move toward your brand new future? What if the girl you were and the young woman you were could come with you, held and loved and carried forward, rather than left behind?
This is the deeper invitation underneath the needles. We tend the skin, and we tend the grief. We support the vitality of the body, and we make room for the woman who is arriving. You get to bring every version of yourself forward, whole.
What sort of transformation is possible for you?
Returning to Self Care
Self care became a phrase we use to sell things, and I want to return it to its meaning. Caring for yourself is the daily practice of treating your body as someone worth tending. It is the water you drink, the meals that feed you, the therapy that holds you, the meditation that brings you back, and the movement that reminds you that you are alive.
Aesthetic acupuncture lives inside this larger devotion. It is one hour where you lie down, let yourself be cared for, and remember your own essence. Effortless beauty is simply what happens when a woman is finally well, finally rested, and finally home in her own body.
What Working Together Looks Like
We begin with a conversation
We talk about your health, your history, and what your body has been carrying. I want to understand the whole woman before I ever pick up a needle.
We tend the whole system
Together we look at nourishment, hydration, rest, movement, and the regulation of your nervous system, so that radiance has somewhere to grow from.
We treat the face within the body
Through a series of gentle facial treatments, we wake circulation and collagen while the deeper healing continues underneath.
We let radiance return
As the body softens and remembers safety, your essence rises to the surface, and beauty becomes the natural expression of a woman who is well.
Your Visit, Honestly
Your first visit
Your first visit is the longest, because we begin with a real conversation about your health and your history before any needles, so I understand the whole woman in front of me. Follow-up visits move gently into the treatment itself.
How it feels
The needles are far finer than the ones used for injections, and most women are surprised by how gentle the work feels. The nervous system tends to settle deeply, and you may find yourself somewhere between waking and rest before you leave softened and clear.
After your visit
You can return to your day right away. Now and then a single point leaves a small mark that fades within days, and otherwise you simply carry your glow back out into the world.
The rhythm of the work
Because the results are cumulative, I recommend coming twice a week for six weeks, a full series of twelve treatments, followed by a gentle maintenance rhythm to keep what we have built. Most women begin with their first visit and then continue with the Series of Twelve, and I also offer packages of five and eight.
If This Is You
This work is for you if you recognize yourself here.
- You are emerging from a relationship or a season that asked you to shrink, and you are ready to come home to yourself.
- You want to care for your skin in a way that honors your whole body, your history, and your spirit.
- You are tired of being told there is something wrong with you that needs fixing.
- You want to age into yourself, becoming more fully who you are with every year.
- You are drawn to beauty that is built from health, hydration, rest, and reverence.
- You want a provider who is grounded, present, and real with you.
I Have Lived This
During the pandemic, I gave my time to caring for myself and embodying my goddess self. I was intentional about it, and I know what that devotion takes, because I lived it. That is how I walked into my fortieth year.
As I prepare to enter my forty sixth year, I am just as committed to my own care, even while I am the caretaker for both of my parents. I know what it takes to keep choosing myself, and I keep choosing it.
I do not look back to return to who I was. I look back to be inspired by her. When I look at who I was in those years, I begin to imagine the woman I will be at forty six, at forty seven, at fifty, and at sixty five. My eyes are on the future, and my past is where I gather the inspiration to meet it.
Three years ago I became ill, and I was given medication that harmed my nervous system. For a time I did not look like myself at all. I looked like a completely different person.
In those months, I kept returning to older pictures of myself, and through them I reached for my original beauty, the beauty that was still mine even when I could not see it in the mirror.
When I recovered, I was able to embody my beauty again. So when I speak about returning home to your own radiance, I am speaking from my own body. I know the stakes, because I have been there.
I know what it takes, because I have lived it.
Who You Are Working With

I am Valencie Exceus, an Acupuncture Physician, board certified, with nearly two decades of practice. I studied facial acupuncture during my training in Oriental medicine, and I have practiced it with patients across many settings since. I offer this work here in Fort Lauderdale, at All Natural Wellness Center. I have additional training in biopuncture, also called acupoint injection, so I can offer you more than needles alone.
I am clinical and I am soul, and I do not pretend to be only one of those. I am neurodivergent and gifted, and I do not mask, which means the woman who shows up to care for you is the real one. Grounded, precise, a little bit eccentric, and fully present with you. You will always know exactly who you are working with.
This is the kind of care I wished existed, so I built it.
